David Newham
David Newham is an Actor, Director, Producer and Playwright based in Vancouver, Canada. He is a graduate of the BFA Acting Program at the University of British Columbia, and he also holds a diploma in performing arts from Douglas College. David is a founding member and Co-Artistic Producer of Seven Tyrants Theatre.
Seven Tyrants writing credits include: We, The G20, The China Tea Deal, The Taxidermist’s Mistake and Bad King John. As an actor David played Creon in Antigone and Jim in The Bucky Show as well as the title role in Macbeth. David produced and directed Bad King John and The China Tea Deal.
He recently played Peder Mortensgaard in Ibsen’s Rosmersholm. Other favourite credits include Stephen in PI Theatre’s Werewolves and on screen as David Poe in the feature film Poe: Last Days of the Raven, which won Best Feature Film at the 2008 Cinema City Film Festival at Universal Studios and was the Bronze Palm Award winner at the 2009 Mexico International Film Festival.
