Daniel Deorksen
Daniel Deorksen is a Vancouver-based writer, actor, producer, composer, musician and sound designer. A graduate of UBC with a BFA in Theatre, Dan is a founder and Co-Artistic Producer of Seven Tyrants Theatre and Executive Director of Synergy At Play Productions.
Dan’s writing credits with Seven Tyrants Theatre include The Bucky Show, Horribly Sunny, We, The G20 and The China Tea Deal (2008 & 2009). He has also co-adapted Antigone, Macbeth and Bad King John and is a co-writer of Synergy At Play’s new rock musical Northville.
Acting highlights include R. Buckminster Fuller in The Bucky Show, The Bastard in Bad King John (Seven Tyrants Theatre), Richard III in King Richard and His Women, Tom in The Glass Menagerie (Theatre at UBC) and Kalen in the upcoming feature film Everything Louder Than Everything Else.
Dan’s compositions have been featured in many Vancouver productions, including The Devil and Billy Markham (2009 Chutzpah Festival), Dog Eat Dog (The Only Animal), Bull in a China Shop (Felix Culpa), Alone (ReirArt Productions) and The Dunsmuirs (Sea Theatre). Dan is currently composing music for Northville and for his funk-rock group Two Apple Tobacco.
