Based on the life and work of R. Buckminster Fuller

A Bucky Lecture for the 21st Century!

Based on the provocative teachings of R. Buckminster Fuller, one of the most original minds of the modern age, The Bucky Show takes a wild route, zig zagging across human evolution to illuminate how we - the crew of Spaceship Earth - got trapped in the mess we’re in, and our ability to “design” our way out.

“There is no energy crisis, food crisis or environmental crisis. There is only a crisis of ignorance.” - R. Buckminster Fuller

Richard Buckminster “Bucky” Fuller (1895-1983) - architect, scientist, philosopher, poet and inventor - is perhaps best known for inventing the Geodesic Dome and introducing the term “synergy” into the popular lexicon. When personal tragedy brought him to the brink of suicide, Fuller chose to transform his life into an experiment aimed at discovering what an individual could do to “make the world work” and provide for 100% of humanity. He proposed that each of us is exquisitely equipped to fulfill a unique function in Universe, the significant realization of which would bring about a world of plenty and make war obsolete. Thrown out of Harvard twice, Fuller was awarded 48 honorary doctorates and over 100 awards of high merit, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

“It is essential to release humanity from the false fixations of yesterday, which seem now to bind it to a rationale of action leading only to extinction.” - R. Buckminster Fuller

The Bucky Show employs the theatrical venue as an unprecedented design-science tool for vividly communicating humanity’s most pressing, ever-evolving issues. It hopes to ignite Fuller’s assertion that humanity possesses both the physical and metaphysical aptitude to chart our way clear of the present-day global crisis and prosper like never before.

“That the Universe tolerates our protracted nonsense suggests significant unrealized potential.” - R. Buckminster Fuller
