Company
Seven Tyrants Theatre Society is a non-profit organization based in Vancouver, BC. We produce multi-disciplinary theatrical performance pieces, utilizing actors, dancers and live musicians to provide a full-sensory experience relevant to a global audience.
Our objective is to reinvigorate live theatrical performance in the 21st Century by re-forging the core connection between the performer, audience and text. With a special interest in new plays and the innovative re-imagining of classic works, we emphasize a collaborative process.
Seven Tyrants Theatre has created and produced over half a dozen new Canadian plays and adaptations, including the China Tea Deal trilogy, Bad King John, The Bucky Show, A Good Woman of Setzuan, and Judge Dee and The Haunted Garden.
In 2012/13 we are excited to bring Halloween back to the Chinese Garden with Judge Dee & The Chinese Garden Murders, October 24-31 2012. We are also thrilled to announce the launch of our first Education Outreach Program featuring The Bucky Show. Our mainstage production is a re-imagining of John Gay’s classic The Beggar’s Opera, premiering at Performance Works on Granville Island April 18 - May 5 2013.
